Birthday Bunnies

While this isn't monster related, I couldn't keep this little guy to myself. I made it for an art swap. I can't say no to those things.

"Bunnies have birthdays too"

He's been sent off to his new home and hopefully will enjoy a life of pampering and birthday parties.

Birthday Surprises

My niece's birthday was last week. So I made her a pillow. Pretty good present on a budget and still in moving limbo.

More photos on flickr!

The idea came from the wonderful Alexandra Ferguson's Monogrammed Pillows.

It's my birthday.

And my mom is here to visit!

No monsters today. Only reluctant birthday cats.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow I'll be at the Brooklyn Indie Market in Carroll Gardens. You should come hang out with us. In addition to the amazing things you'll find, you'll never find a better group of fun loving people.

And still I'm sad that I'm so far from my Dad for his 65th Birthday Party tomorrow. I spent time today digging through old photos so my sisters and I could give him something special from us.

I had quite an adventure trying to get all of these old photos scanned today. So Happy Birthday Dad. I hope your party tomorrow is a lot of fun and know that we're thinking of you even if we can't be there!

Not for consumption

As promised several posts ago (feel free to scroll down and check), here is the scrumptious and yet not edible masterpiece. In honor of all birthdays (but especially mine) and celebrations, I have made a plush cake.

I have a couple of ads out currently that look like this:

As you can see, the cake was indispensible to my ad concept. And it brought me great joy to make. The giggles could be heard over the sound of creation (ie the sewing machine).

Internet is Cranky

I'm sorry to report that my internet is not working from home. So all of the lovely pictures, ads, etc that I was hoping to post are stuck on my home computer and not able to get onto the internet and out to you.

Despite this, I have much news for you!

In honor of my birthday (not the monsters') I'm throwing a party, and it's your good luck that it also means a sale!

There are two ways you can benefit from this.

1) July 19th thru July 27th visit my etsy store for free shipping to anywhere in the world on anything in my shop. AND you get a free party goodie bag filled with handmade samples and fun party toys (I couldn't resist).

2) If you're in the NYC area, come to Artists & Fleas in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (On N. 6th at Bedford St) anytime this weekend (July 19th & 20th) for 25% all monsters, shirts, cards, button packs, and more. AND you get a free party goodie bag with each purchase. There will also be some free giveaways just for coming out and having a good time. It is a party after all.

Nebbie says hello.

I know what you're thinking: "Where are the monsters?" And you're right of course. But honestly I'm too busy making monsters to sell this weekend at Artists & Fleas to do a real photo shoot. I have to admit that I'm also cooking up one sweet surprise for you all too (it may look tasty, but trust me don't eat it).

And then of course today I had to go see where the KMStitchery magic happens. And she posted pictures of me modeling my new dress (hooray for early birthday presents) on her blog. The photo at the top of this post* is my new aloe plant (named Nebuchadnezzar) that followed me home from picking up my dress. Also thanks for the awesome fabric!

So I'll see you in Williamsburg this weekend, right? My good friends from BullFrog Creations will be selling along side of me. Woo!

*I tried to get my cat to pose with the plant, but he didn't seem to like the idea. When I don't want him interested in my plants he's all over them, when I do, he can't wait to get away.
