Monster Making Kits

You may have noticed a few new things up in my etsy store.

We're still in limbo from this move. But the store is up and running. The monsters and I had a nice little photo shoot the other day. I'm still trying to find the best light in the house for good photos though the monsters always look dashing.

I've only heard the best things about these kits. Have a crafty one in the house? Young and old seem to enjoy putting them together. It's a toy they'll cherish because they made it themselves.

Do you have a Monster Making Kit already? I'd love it if you'd post photos of your monster on the flickr pool!

Mustacheo Visits DUMBO

When my mom was visiting in July, we went to DUMBO and took some photos which Mustacheo happily posed for. And I never posted them here! For shame. So here they are in all their glory.

Mustacheo in front of the Manhattan Bridge.

Mustacheo finds a pirate ship.

That turns out to be a playground.

Dave, Squishie Monster Goes Sightseeing

While we (the monsters and I) were in San Francisco for Renegade, Dave took the chance to go sightseeing. The rest of the monsters were too tired after the big show.

Dave expected the beach to be a bit sunnier.

The scenic drive up Route 1 towards San Francisco.

At the Golden Gate bridge. Dave says this should have the caption "Hi Mom!"

Here he messed up the focus a bit. But in the background you can see downtown San Francisco in the fog.

See a few more photos of Dave at the Flickr Group of Monster Photos! Psst... Feel free to add your own.

Interested in making your own monster? Well now you can. My not-yet-but-almost-famous Monster Making Kits are now available in my etsy shop. They come with everything you need to make a monster, including the stuffing. So what are you waiting for? Indulge your inner kid and maybe a few real kids too.

Try making your monster totally unique by adding things you have around your home, like ribbons, paint, buttons, pompoms, glitter, or anything you can think of.

Then after you have a monster, add your photos to my Karen's Monsters Flickr Pool.

Robot Custom Order in the Mail

Finished another custom order.

Click on the photo to see more photos on my flickr stream.

I've been a busy little bee this last week or so. More focused on creating tangible things than sentences and ideas.

Thanks for your vote!

Looks like I'll be pouring through sketch books and scanning images for all of you.

I really appreciate your feedback. It helps me to stay focused.

I guess the stories are popular too. So I'll see what I can do in that department. I do love those silly little stories. A peak into my world of monsters.

ALSO!!! (You can tell this is important because of the caps and 3 !'s.)
I've started a flickr pool.

You're thinking, why would she need to start a flickr pool different than her own flickr page of monster photos.

Well... this flickr pool is for all of YOUR photos of Karen's Monsters. I love to have pictures of the monsters adapting to life in their new homes, or going on vacation, or maybe traveling the world. I've received a bunch from people. So I'm looking at all of you to join my flickr pool and add your photos!

2008 MTV Movie Awards

We're having a party for the 4th, so just a quick post before I get back to cleaning.

Along with the {NewNew} Etsy Team, I sent five monsters to the Sampler to go to the MTV Movie Awards. Well low and behold there is a picture of Rob Buckley holding one of my monsters. Of course I only know who he is because I googled him, but that doesn't make him less famous. I don't profess to know anything about famous people. My husband only wishes that Titan (from American Gladiators), pictured in the same set on flickr, could be holding a monster. Titan if you're listening, we would love some endorsement!

Speaking of Flickr, I uploaded a bunch of new photos onto Flickr today. I felt like perhaps my account wasn't balanced enough. Too many monsters, not enough of the rest of my life. So now you can see pictures of my cat too (Schroedinger).

I'll be at the Brooklyn Flea again on Sunday, so if you're in the city, come and say hi. Hopefully we'll stay dry this weekend!
